Kavana is a pro-earth label crafting sustainable, handcrafted apparel, working closely with weavers and craftsmen. Their Spring/Summer 22 collection, The Songs of Spring, was inspired by the sounds of springtime in winter valleys, translated into linen saris and blouses. Working under the Creative Director, I was involved across nearly every stage of the collection's development.
This spanned market research, silhouette development, and tech packs, alongside fabric dyeing, colour selection, and hands-on collaboration with hand block printers and hand embroiderers. I also developed khakas, the traced templates used to guide embroidery work, translating design intent into artisan-ready guides. The scope moved from early concept and research through to the final, handcrafted product, working closely with the makers at every step.
The collection was sold to a domestic Indian audience.
